Opening Session/Morning Keynote Speaker

Tina is a proud First Generation Laotian and Vietnamese Woman born and raised in Providence, RI. She was raised by two strong, resilient immigrant parents, who taught her the values of love, hard work, and education, which continues to drive her in her aspirations today. After graduating from Classical High School, she attended Clark University where she received her B.A. in International Development and Social Change and her M.A. in Community Development and Planning. Through her personal experiences, community involvement, and education she has found purpose in being a community activist and a mentor for young people. She is devoted to empowering and supporting young people to think critically about their society, to challenge their world, and to live unapologetically in their skin. Currently, Tina works as the Executive Director at College Visions in Providence, RI.
