About this speaker
Kim McAloney, who was a first-generation college student, currently serves as assistant director of academic engagement in the Educational Opportunities Program coordinating the EOP bridge program, tutoring services in OSU’s cultural resource centers, and serving as an academic counselor. Kim is a doctoral candidate in the Language, Equity, and Educational Policy program all from Oregon State University and holds a B.S. in Ethnic Studies and a M.S. in College Student Services Administration (CSSA). Her areas of emphasis throughout her education and career include access and equity in higher education, women of color mentorship, first generation college students, bi/multiracial identity, and teaching pedagogy. Kim's doctoral research deepens the liberatory mentorship of women of color model. Prior to joining EOP, Kim worked in OSU’s Office of the Dean of Student Life coordinating student support for the CSSA program and serving as the on-campus coordinator for the NASPA Undergraduate Fellows Program.
