About this speaker

Hello! My name is Akua, and I am a third-year student at New York University from Worcester, MA. I study Multimedia Storytelling, which is an individualized major comprising journalism, film, and the study of performance art. I hope to become a cultural journalist with the ability to tell stories using whatever medium suits my subjects. In school, I am a tutor with my school's America Reads program, as well as a peer mentor for our service-based summer pre-orientation program, Project Outreach. Outside of classes, I am a multi-instrumentalist -- I play bass, electric guitar, and piano. I also enjoy knitting and trying new hairstyles. I am leading a workshop on storytelling, and I hope to see you there!
